Dynamic Social Security: Securing social
stability and economic development
ISSA’s
Social Security ObservatoryChapter 1 and Chapter 6
We can see from
the report that, if a country faced global economic downturn, the problems of
unemployment and poverty will increase violently, and the government had to
spend money on the social security program such as tax reduce and health
insurance in order to maintain social stability in the country. But when the
level of unemployment and poverty had increased so violently that the country’s
financial foundation couldn’t hold them anymore, this country’s economic system
might eventually crumble. As we see from this paragraph:
“As we arrive at the end of 2010,
global economic recovery and exit from the crisis remains slow and uncertain. Despite
signs of recovery in global markets, in many countries unemployment is not
falling. Higher levels of unemployment continue to restrain social security
income from contributions while simultaneously requiring ongoing increased
expenditure on benefits.”
The expending on social security is like an endless money-burning vortex, as long as the number of the unemployed remains high, this vicious spiral will ends up becoming the great hole of the country ‘s economy. And as the report suggests, among Asia country, “Social security systems are integral to the management of the social, economic and political dimensions.” (Page 7) Our economic system are bounded with the social security systems, the over-expense of social security will eat up our money which we are going to spend on improving the country’s economic structure.

I see what you are trying to talk about here. What you are saying is that Taiwan already has a good social system that takes care of the minority like you mentioned above, but when the government insisted on developing economy it somehow turned backward. The source you provided is quite convincing but a little bit confusing at the beginning because it seems like you are agreeing to the economy development. Maybe it is better to choose source that is directly respond to your issue.
回覆刪除I love the way you presented your annotation. Your body languages made me concentrated and your interjections were so funny. All in all, it is clear and impressive.
回覆刪除I think your voice is very clear and loud, and you look excited about your topic. You caught our attention successfully. However I don't quite understand your position when you're presenting, because your conclusion didn't imply a strong stand point.
回覆刪除I agree with your point of view. It is not only essential but also crucial that under any circumstances that the government should ignore the welfare of the minority to progress our economy. However, the question is, since our social welfare could possibly collapse our economic system, is it still appropriate that government spend that much money on welfare? in my opinion, if the country has face problems on economic, there will soon be more and more people who need social care. On the other hand, if the economic of the country has been progressing, the amount of people need social care would indeed decrease, since the average life of people would become better. All in all, although we should never ignore the importance of social welfare to the minorities, it is still essential that the government should handle the economic issues in the first place.
回覆刪除The way and voice you presented the annotation is really eye-catching. And your standpoint is clear, you make me understand your point even I don't have any sense of such kind of issue.
回覆刪除I can feel your confidence about your issue when you are presenting. However, if you won't keep turning your body around, it will be much more better. Your speaking is loud enough, but your speed of representation is a bit too fast. Sometimes, I can't catch up your idea.
回覆刪除Knot:
回覆刪除You urge that some economic contract such as ECFA erode some minority's( farmers here) welfare. That's true we can't ignore their right to survive. But I wonder what will happen if we place merely the general social welfare and deny all the opportunity to promote our economy. If there a possible way to undermine both sides?
I think you are good at catching audience's attention, which will let us concentrate on what you are saying. Also, although this is a topic about economic which I'm not really interested in, I could still uderstand your point clearly, for the words you used were not too difficult and sometimes you' would give chinese explanation to the them. This was an impressive presentation.
回覆刪除I think the way you speak can catch the audience, but making too much strange noise may vague your point in the presentation. Also, I find that you belong to the kind of figure that will fight for social fairness :p
回覆刪除When you are speaking, you always have many gestures and cadence. These help you draw the audience's attention to you. Nevertheless, I'm not sure what your point is in your presentation.

回覆刪除The way you talk grabbed my attention immediately. Your voice and your body language was impressive to me. However, i can not see your viewpoints in your annotation either. By the way, about your picture in the annotation, you need to add 'figure 1' and some explanation.
回覆刪除In your presentation, I think you want to combine social welfare and security together. But actually I don't really understand your main point in the presentation. I think you should try to make your point more clear.
